VertSMS is a simple application for our Nokia N900 which allows the sending and the composition of text messages in portrait mode.
It is still a beta version with some problems: it need to improve the speed and does not have T9. But, nevertheless, can be really useful when you need to send a very short and fast message.

I gave it a try. Uninstalled after a day because it increases battery consumption.

same problem. message shows up under a separate thread in the conversations widget, but does not send at all.
i do like the two keyboard styles, however..very nice.
it would be awesome if vert-sms and conversations could get together so i could open one app but have both capabilities, especially since conversations has a giant desktop widget you can’t miss!
