With application Scout for our Nokia N900 we can search contacts, conversations and calendars. We can search for text in Contacts for names, nicknames usernames, addresses or phone numbers.
Selecting a search result has different actions:

Looks great. To bad it only finds calander appointments in the past and not in the future
It would be a great feature to apply the same search to the application list itself. Right now you need to scroll that huge list of applications in App Manager > Download > All in order to find an application you want to install. It’s a great news that the list become bigger and bigger but scrolling it drives me nuts!
Hi pls pls can somone tell me if alla apps i can download from my appmanager on my mobile are those free ? And i have added all 3 extra repository and wonder if they got free apps as well `?
that would be awesome. its weird why can we search by typing when adding a shortcut to the desktop but not in the main menu. this app would be a great alternative if it did that too.
You can “filter” the list of applications already kind of, typing in a keyword/name of the app shortlists them – or at least it did last time I used it, unless its been changed since then ^^
I have tried this app but it is crashing when searching. it is getting few search result then immediately crashed(app closed).
same problem as Arun – searches fast but then crashes immediately…hopefully bugs will be fixed soon
New version seems to have solved the crashes.
