$ sudo gainroot
/home/user # cd /usr/share/themes/alpha/images/

mv ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png.old

mv ApplicationShortcutApplet.png ApplicationShortcutApplet.png.old

……..there is space between “cd” and “/user”
……..and there is also a space between “mv” and “ApplicationShorrcut”……….

then restart ur phone….its works really……

yeh, got it! my theme is windows 7 / tampered the one on Alpha earlier and now made the adjustments, it is working.thanks

I tried the above commands and also checked the files using filebox to ensure, where those two files are already renamed to .old. However, I restarted my N900 2 times, those shadows are still there. Can any1 help me out please?

can u help me in deleting da nfs icon frm my menu…….coz i am unable to open it plz give me a detailed step by stpe method to remove from my desktop…….plzzzzzzz

guys,, i found out that there’s a much easier way to remove the shadows of the icons on the desktop… simply download the filebox,,, then configure the settings in a way that it will let you show your hidden files.,,, then press up arrow key,, till you see only /.. then type usr.. then click it.. then type share,, click the said folder again.. then type themes,, again double click,,, then locate the theme you are currently using,, then of course,, click it again…. then,,, locate the name,, ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png ..
check it then rename it.. to ApplicationShortcutAppletPressed.png.old
ApplicationShortcutApplet.png
check it then rename it … to ApplicationShortcutApplet.png.old.
then reboot the phone….

do you hit enter after every line? or do you just type the whole thing out and restart the n900? please help
