pyCallblocker for Nokia N900

pyCallBlocker is the graphical version of the application that we comment a few days ago, which was able to block incoming calls to our Nokia N900 from a list “black” that we created.

Its operation is even more easy to text version, now to add or delete a number to the list, needed only click on New number or Delete Name, respectively. The list is stored in /home/user/MyDocs/BlockedCallers.txt.

pyCallBlockeris available in the Extras-Devel repository. To learn more about repositories, click here.

I hv tried & able to answer ur question.
    1) Those with private number unable to block unless u key in ‘private number’ exectly like what was shown on ur n900.
2)Update to the latest firmware & everything will be fine.
    3) U hv to key in the number exectly to what was shown on ur n900 (including ‘+’)

Lastly, each time u switch on ur n900, u hv to open ‘pycallblocker’ & then close the program (just like switch on & immediately switch off) to activate it.

    tHe EmPeRoR,

    Your Problem:-
    1)Installed Pycallblocker
2)Launch application and it closes itself (NOT WORKING)

    Solution:-
    Download and install
    “maemo-python-device-env”

    Then it works =)

Is it possible to block numbers in same range? like if I want to block numbers in this range 46224450 – 46224459, can I put * at the end, and just type in 4622445* ?

  10. melf says:

joachim, u’ll never b able 2 block (as what u’ve said), u got 2 key in every number manually (sorry about that). One thing 4 sure once d pycallblocker starts, the opposite party will only hear d tone of d phone was switch off & not a single ring tone can b heard & that’s d beauty of this application. I hv tried lots of application (quite similar) but non as good as this. Most of d applications, the opposite parties able 2 hear a connection tone then it’s like we purposely reject his/her calls. Guys enjoy this wonderful application & this is d best.

Wow this application helped me save some serious cash I was thinking of paying my network operator, to create a Blacklist.

The application does not alert you when a blocked number is calling, the caller gets the impression that the phone is out of coverage are or just switched off.

The only hiccup is that I cannot see if someone I have blocked has tried calling me or not and how many times??

Its Useful to avoid telemarketers but if U wanna avoid ur Ex GF,, well try elsewhere or develop something else..

I luved it and Thanks for the tip.
