Useful note: You only need to run psfreedom-enable until you’ve booted up the PS3. After that you can run psfreedom-disable and use the N900 as an external hard drive to back the games up onto. It’s a great little phone =)

can you explain better the steps, do i have to copy de rar to the memory of the n900(done that) and i can´t do this step. tar xzf psfreedom.tar.gz, it says taht there is no file in directory

  4. laasonen says:

    Tiago Pinheiro@

It doesn’t matter what directory you use.

Watch out sony are trying to patch it with a new firmware that came out today..if you want to carry on using the jailbreak DO NOT update PS firmware 3.42

  6. sukhi says:

I tried the first line tar xzf psfreedom.tar.gz and it says, no such file or directory, where would u place the actual file on the n900 you need to give a little bit of information and if it dont matter which directory you use then why is this error coming up?

install xarchiver, extract files to home/user/, run x-terminal… type commands, and it works!

  9. lukeLey says:

hey people I have a Problem
    - I extractet the files to a directory (no problem) then started the script with
    sh psfreedom-enable.sh
    - BUT without connecting any PS3 (it should be a test)
    - then I tiped ./psfreedom-disable.sh
Then my xterminal said that I have no permission to do that (but I do have sudo gainroot)
And my phone couldn’t be used as usb drive anymore (I had really fear)
After shut down my N900 and turn it on again the Fear was gone, cause it could be used normal again.
MY Important question is WHAT will happen when I do that things with a PS3??
Can the Backup manager take any damages?

A lot of thanks for your answers!

  12. I personally just think Ps3 is the greatest video game system I have ever put to use although many people may believe very different with the inclusion of my own little ones whom give preference to Xbox 360 system.
