You can do overclocking on our Nokia N900, even at speeds of 1 GHz. It is not very recommended, because this will take away life to the N900 and download the battery quite quickly, we can even lose the Nokia warranty.

There are several kernel, depending on the speed. The steps to do Overclocking (UNDER YOUR RESPONSIBILITY) are:
cdProgram Filesmaemoflasher-3.5 flasher-3.5.exe -k zImage-750mhz -f -R
Here’s a video with the N900 to 900 MHz

PS: Always making Overclocking in any device carries many risks, think twice before doing so.

Me too, 800mhz.. I´m not going to go there

Dont reboot via xterm. Otherwise lost your device. Use power switch for reboot. My experience.
I cant access ovi store after overclocking, tells me to update . I am already PR1.2.
any help?
This is NOT a safe and good way to overclock your N900!
Just download the “Enhanced Linux kernel for Power Users”
Here some instructions: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=595582
Personly I use the 250 – 850 limits with a lv profile. Which is 100% stable. Going higher then 850 mhz is posible (even to 1,15ghz) but not recommended.
When u reboot, the settings go back to the default (600mhz) You can also setup the overcloked settings as default, but I use the “Queen Beecon Widget” to activate it quick after a reboot!
You can find some info about setting up Queen Becon nearly at the bottom of the page linked above.

hi. I personally tried both methods, the one presented here with flacher maemo 3.5, and after that I tried to jakiman’s method, and I think that with flacher maemo 3.5 is more effective ….
with the method of jakiman I overlock to 900MHz, but I feel that it’s an illusion, there is no difference in speed, but with maemo flacher 3.5, the N900 is a rocket! !
for those who fear the method with maemo flacher, I can tell you that it’s top cool ….
