It is not a problem in all the Nokia N97, but are appearing cases in which the camera lens and the cover of this terminal are giving a problem to users.

Some terminals are the cover mounted too close to the lens, and because of the dust and other particles that are deposited in the lens, the lens of N97 can scratched.
The problem does not affect many terminals, if we take into account the large number that have been sold the N97, but if us any of those affected, since Nokia have given some advice that we must continue to resolve this small problem.
The first thing we have to do if the images that takes the camera are defective, it is cleaning the lens with a soft cloth. If this does not solve anything, it is most advisable is to contact the Nokia Care Point to know if we have to change the cover or the lens.

I have had mine lens replaced after 6 weeks, and the 2nd lens is starting to mark already. I have only had it back just over 2 weeks. If it keep happening i will be demanding an upgrade to the N900.

i agree the phone is good, just flawed. And i dont want a mini n97 as a replacement if it keeps happening.
I think nokia group should work on the navigation button like the BlackBerry smart navigation buttons in future if they want to make impact in the world of smartphones.
