MyContacts is an application for our Nokia N900 with which we can see all the information about our contacts, customize a desktop widget to allow us quick access to 75 contacts and customize the ring tone per group of contacts.
Some Features:
- Custom calling ring tones by group
- Quick access to up to 75 contacts on your desktop. Quick dial with double click.
- Skinnable user interface using style sheets
- Auto rotate, portrait and landscape modes.
- virtual keyboard on portrait mode
- call phone number, start phone UI with selected phone number, send sms, send e-mail
- Field descriptions replaced by icons: icons for work, home, cell, sms, …
- phone numbers in fonts that you (or at least I) can actually read and with some formatting (can be disabled on settings)
- Different Views: only with email, only with phone, only with avatars and all.
- Integration with FastSMS (optional)
- Integration with VICaR (optional).

I have been using this app for a while now – was in the maemo app contest – by far one of my favorite n900 apps!! works amazing and you can get a lot of contact avatars on one screen and it also allows for grouping of contacts
Can’t assign ringtone to group. Can’t detect the mp3 tracks.
How to locate and restore the original group icon?
Can you copy contacts fron phone to sim-card??
I think you have to use .wav for ringtones.
i cant install it … i get an error saying cannot install crochik mycontacts some application packages requiref for the installation are missing …. details = libqtm-contacts is missing
Support for mp3 ringtones and other formats would be good other than just wav format for group ringtones.
Also, option for group sms through this app would be great since it is missing in N900 by default.
Is there a way not to load it on Desktop when you start up your phone?
It’s very big. It should have a small icon to open its interface.
What the hell? I have installed 0.9.16-1 and I am unable to load any contacts to this application.
I have tried to install this app by downloading the extras-devel first, when installing the mycontacts, it stops at 46% and the installation hangs, hence I downloaded the extras-testing and rerun the installation it completes the installation, but with some message, however when I run it open ups the application. I am not sure if I have installed the correct version, how do I check this? and also if I need to uninstall and re-install with correct installation programs whats the steps?
How to i send sms to a group after selecting contacts to group?
hi..santi then just put the shortcut on ur desktop the pink address book..but im having the opposite prob..every time i restart the phone the widget disappears off my desktop..how do i keep it there permanently?
is there any option to send sms to specific group as n900 has’t this option?
