Lock SIM remotely on Nokia 5800

Today we will learn to lock the SIM card in case of theft in our Nokia 5800, 5530, 5230 or X6 via SMS. It is a hidden function quite interesting, that even i noticed some companies sell as an application.

The steps are:

 

  • Go to Settings > Phone > Phone mgmt. > Security > Phone and SIM card
  • Now go to “remote phone locking”, which appears as disabled, we activate it and we will introduce a remote locking message.
  • After entering the message, we introduce a “lock code”, by default is “12345″.

    So, if they steal us our Nokia, simply sending the remote locking message, SIM card is locked.

      I’ve seen that feature but havent tested it out yet.. i was wondering what would the remote locking message look like? what message are you supposed to send?’

      If the SIM card is now locked, is there anyway to unlock it? Want to try it but afraid if there’s no way no unlock it. :D

      Hi,
      I am having Nokia 5800 and i have locked my memory card and forgot my password as well. :(

      Is there any possibility to get my memory card password through this function or anthing else i have to do.
      Please help me :)
