The Nokia N900 does not yet have official support for Java, but thanks to lcedtea6 and Microemulator applications we can run any Java application on our N900.
Installation:
- Download and install lcedtea6 from the Extras-Testing repository.
- Download Microemulator.
- Unzip microemulator as root in / opt /: unzip microemulator-2.0.4.zip-d / opt / microemulator /
- Execute it, type: java-jar / opt / microemu / microemulator.jar
- Go to options -> Select Device
- Select Resizable device and click OK
Now we can run Java applications on our N900 
.

If you have M$ Windows, you can try Ovi Maps… If you have GNU/Linux, I guess Flasher will work.

ok. am nube & lost.. i downloaded ice tea.. i downloaded micro emulator. microemulator installed with my other apps. i have zero clue what to do with icetea.. i open micro emulator ..choose the dropdown menu the posted directions say too..it opens a menu folder hierchy and only gives me the option to add..rem..or cancel..

i have n900 since 6 months and till now nothing working on it.. they told us that n900 is miracle but i discovered that is a bad phone was designed by nokia.. Better for them to resolve all this issues because 100% of person who had this phone are disappointed…

microemulator can you download normal with the program manager, so you don’t need x terminal.

To all those complaining about the N900 and Nokia:
You guys should have informed yourselves better before buying the N900.
Your complaining is like buying a beetle and complaining that your fridge wouldn’t fit in the trunk.
The fact that you still think it’s a phone proofs that you didn’t do any homework before buying it. It is a MID (mobile Internet device) and it does fulfill 100% of the wishes that well informed buyers had when purchasing this.
1 last thought …. if so many users can do everything you not informed guys cannot do with the same device …. is it the fault of the device?
The N900 is like a women … not everyone is able to hit the right buttons.
I believe any one who bought N900 made the right choice.
The device is capable of doing all you want but take time to learn it. It is a scientific device.

I biught Nokia N900 yesterday. It is a great phone. Who dont like this phone, I gues they are simply children who want to play more games with java, sis or android. I repeat, It’s a gret phone, One problem to me ;D, can anyone give me a site where I could find many themes 4 it. P.s. mobile9 has ~6 themes, so about it I know already. I can’t isntall java on my Nokia N900, but i will keep on going with it

foloow me step by step firs of all u open this page from ur nokia n900 then u find on the right these words in blue : Repositories Extras, Extras-Devel and Extras-Testing for Nokia N900 u clik its downloaded automaticly download it in ur file manger after u go searching inside ur file manger for file named { icedelta} download it also when its done close the file manger and reopen this same page u can find these word download microemulator in blue click on it and its downloading when u finish u can find this prog the micro i mean in ur phone already
i made exactly what i worte and i did not need to unzip the micro i got the prog and options rezise and thats it

follow this stuff:
1. make sure all the repository like extras, extras-develop on ur n900
2. go to app manager
3. download
4.icedtea…. install it
5. again got to app manager
6. download
7. micreoemulator
8. install it n njoy…
any games u can tell me,will be glad if some one could send me d links or games dat are being tested on nokia n900…will be greatful

1. download & install lcedtea6
2. download & unzip microemulator in your pc and change name to “jave” and copy in your cell.
3. run x-treminal
4. run java -jar /home/user/MyDocs/java/microemulator.jar
5. go to “option” menu and select “select device”
6. select “resizeable device” and click on a “set as defult” button & ok.
7. go to file menu and select open mid…”
8. finish.
