New firmware available for our Nokia 5800, firmware 51.0.006, which has significant improvements, especially with respect to optimizing the RAM.
Now the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a Flash Lite enabled phone. The improvements with this new firmware are:
- Improved Mail for Exchange
- Improved video calls
- Improved browser
- Performance improvements
Regarding performance, I have seen a savings of approximately 6 MB. RAM. The browser native improvement over the previous version of firmware, but still far from browsers such as Opera.
But beware that this firmware update comes with a fatal error (just as happens to my 5800), which is that when we connect our Nokia 5800 to your PC via PCSuite will appear that we have no memory to save anything in it, nor in the C: drive or the E: drive. So we must use the connection mode “Mass Storage”.
If you want this update, you can get both via OTA (dial * # 0000 #, then press Options> Check for Updates, and finally update) or via NSU. It’s about time to be appearing in all countries.
