I really feel very fedup with the old sluggish firmware version 12.x.xx on my N97, and I saw Nokia SG website that N97 firmware version 20 has released, but when I checked mine, it is still not ready yet.
I decided to try to change my N97 product code using the abovementioned steps. Great! It works well and successfully upgraded to firmware version 20 after the product code changed.
After you have entered the correct product code, which allow to upgrade firmware version 20, saved it, and immediately it will prompt you that there's an update of firmware version 20.x.xx available. I used NSU to upgrade, as I feel more safer, and everything work successfully. But I did not backup so I need to use it as a fresh new N97.
QUESTIONS:
I managed to change my N97 product code from original 0587025 to 0576130 successfully, and so far work so good.
1) Since I managed to change the product code to upgrade to firmware version 20.x.xx,
2) Can I change my N97 product code back to the original one 0587025 using the steps listed above?
3) And will there be any conflicts, crash or bricked? As I still prefer to utilize back the embedded original product code. Anybody has more details and infos on this issue, or has anyone tried before, and whether is it advisable?
Please kindly advise.
Many Thanks.
Cheers'

Hi,<br

I have tried to change my SingTel white N97 product codes, and managed to download and upgrade to firmware version 20.x.019.
It works fine so far. However, I have tried afew times doing that before that but not successful.
I do it on a fresh computer, create 2 accounts with administrator rights, installed Nokia PC Suite in Account "A", and install Ovi Suite in Account "B".
After installation, I connect my N97 to the computer using the usb cable to Account "A" with PC Suite, and at the systray, it prompting that new device found and searching for drivers, and this part must be done and ensure the correct drivers installed into your computer.
Next, not to take the risk, I logon to Account "B" and connect to Ovi Suite, and also prompted drivers correctly installed and ready to use.
I login back to Account "A" with PC Suite. I tried on both JAF and NSS, but preferred NSS, and follow the abovementioned steps, change to product code to 0576130, and exit NSS, shutdown computer, and disconnect N97 and reboot.
Afterthat, immediately, it shows there's an important updates available. I did not upgrade using FOTA as advise by some experts, and use NSU to upgrade, and everything done and fine.
Hope the above helps.

Hello Asian users, especially Singapore N97 users,

I have tried to change my SingTel white N97 product codes, and managed to download and upgrade to firmware version 20.x.019.

It works fine so far.
